Most of the memorials around the UK were made by the Co-Operative Funeral Services and it all started in Liverpool when Chris Rowlands and Peter Fletcher approached the Co-Operative for a piece of stone.

They kindly quoted a price, but then told Chris they would like to donate the stone to the BNTVA - a wonderful gesture. Alas, a few weeks after the unveiling service our stone was smashed by unknown persons.

Mr Larry Williams of the Co-Op was again approached to see if the stone could be repaired. Within one hour of telling him about the breakage, he had gone to inspect the stone and report back: "No, it cannot be repaired, but we will donate a new

one."

This memorial was one of worse condition memorials in 2021, the tree had lifted the stone and cracked the base. Following some discussions with Liverpool council they offered to reposition the stone further away from the tree and provided a new base for free. As soon as the work was completed Wesley travelled over and repolished the marble, unfortunately the lettering had become badly damaged so it was decided to completely repainted it with some fresh stone paint. The final result looks great.

Remembrance 2022 - Our curator Wesley added a some crosses showing all the operations and the bombs those men witnessed.
